School to School Support

Our Trust is about building knowledge and capacity to deliver a first class education for all.

Across our Trust we have a wide range of expertise and skills in school-to-school support.

From within our schools, SCITT and across our wider networks we can draw on an incredibly diverse range of expertise.

Our Outstanding SCITT works expert specialist in developing practice, structures, systems and the curriculum as a whole. They are experts in leading teacher development, curriculum innovation and mentor led development.

Staff across the Trust have expertise as contractors for Ofsted, Delivering programmes such as the Early Career Framework, NPQ’s and providing coaching support for staff.

Our Governance lead is able to work with your governing body to ensure it is well prepared to fulfil its role effectively and is ready for inspection.

We have a long history of school to school support and are able to provide a range of school to school services.  These include:

Teaching and learning reviews

An experienced team will come to your school and offer a bespoke teaching and learning package.  This can look at every aspect of the school, carrying our deep dives into any subject.  We can look at phase specific development, aspects of leadership and management, governance or preparing your teams for inspection. These look in detail at your school and help sharpen practice through a mixture of analysis, coaching and support for your school to help it develop its practice and sharpen the work it does. The type of deployment, focus and level of scrutiny and support are for you to direct and manage in the best interest of your school.

School Improvement Professionals

Prestolee has a wide range of school improvement professionals who can work with leaders and staff in your school. They will be working on your agenda to support you.  This involves regular visits to the school to work with you and your staff.  This can be looking at every aspect of leadership support from self-evaluation, school improvement planning, curriculum design and development or staff and phase development.

Coaching

All staff need at times professional support to either develop their practice, their leadership or to become even more effective and high performing.  We offer a programme of coaching support to individuals and groups to help them become even more effective in their roles.  This is bespoke and based on your needs and that of your schools.  Should you want to discuss this please contact us directly.

Governor Support

We offer a wide range of support for all layers of governance, including Members, MAT Boards, and maintained schools governing boards.  This is provided through our Head of Governance who is a former National Leader of Governance and has over 20 years’ experience working and volunteering in the governance sector.

Support includes:

  • External Reviews of Governance (ERG) – it is recommended that the Board commissions an ERG every 3 to 5 years.  This process will review your governance practices and procedures and provide a thorough report and an action plan outlining areas to be developed.
  • Training – We provide a wide range of training covering topics such as; understanding roles and responsibilities,  preparing for Ofsted, undertaking effective governor visits and undertaking performance management.  Other topics and bespoke sessions can be provided.
  • Self-evaluation – facilitated self-evaluation sessions with the board to review effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.

Middle leadership development

We offer a set of specific support for middle leadership teams, such as curriculum or assessment leads.  This is a mixture of training and specific support for individuals or teams.  This can help prepare them for inspection, help develop their leadership approaches and help them to develop their bespoke curriculum models.  A key aspect of this is developing sophisticated monitoring and curriculum review process in school to ensure that the curriculum is well planned, delivered, monitored and effective in your school.

Early Years Practice

Our EYFS practitioners can offer an independent view around the quality of your EYFS and its curriculum.  This is designed by you depending on your need.  It will include a visit to the EYFS , some bespoke training and visits to other EYFS settings to view best practice.
