Become a Governor or Trustee
Make a difference in your community.
Governors and Trustees play a vital role in ensuring that every child in our schools receives the very best education. By volunteering your time and expertise, you will help shape the strategic direction of our schools, hold leaders to account, and ensure that our pupils and families remain at the heart of everything we do.
What is a Governor?
Local Governing Boards (LGBs) are the voice of our schools and communities. Governors work closely with headteachers and staff to provide challenge and support, monitor standards, and champion children and families.

As a governor, you will:
-
Know your school and its community well.
-
Support and challenge leaders to ensure the best possible education for every child.
-
Engage with parents, staff and stakeholders as an advocate for your school.
-
Contribute your skills and experience to strengthen decision making.
It is a rewarding role where you will see the impact of your input on children’s lives and the success of your local school.
What is a Trustee?
Trustees oversee the work of the whole Multi Academy Trust. They provide strategic leadership, hold the Executive Team to account, and ensure compliance with all statutory and financial duties. Trustees bring professional expertise from a range of sectors and use it to guide the Trust’s long-term success.
As a Trustee, you will:
- Set and champion the vision, values and strategy of the Trust.
- Hold leaders to account for educational performance, safeguarding and financial management.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory responsibilities.
- Strengthen links between the Trust, our schools and our communities.
It is a position of significant responsibility and influence, but one that offers great satisfaction through making a real difference to children and families across our Trust.
